Reading your Gap Check

Updated October 17, 2026. This page describes exactly what the Gap Check calculates today, including what it does not do.

What goes in

For each of four email flows (abandoned cart, welcome, browse abandonment and post-purchase) you enter two numbers from Klaviyo: revenue per recipient (RPR) and recipients per month. Where to find them. We do not connect to your Klaviyo account or check the numbers; the result is only as good as what you type.

Each flow is compared with Klaviyo's published 2026 email benchmarks:

FlowAverage RPRTop 10% RPR
Abandoned cart$6.77$13.70
Welcome$5.75$13.27
Browse abandonment$2.08$4.32
Post-purchase$1.80$2.77

What each band means

BandRule (your RPR for that flow)What it suggests
ExcellentAt or above the top 10% figureNo fix suggested. Keep an eye on it monthly.
GoodAt or above the average, below the top 10%Working. Test a stronger first email before rebuilding anything.
FairAt least half the average, below the averageEarning less than a typical Klaviyo flow. Worth a rebuild.
PoorBelow half the averageSomething is likely broken or missing: timing, filters, content or the trigger.
Not enteredLeft blank, not a number, or negativeTreated as a missing flow.

For example, for abandoned cart: $13.70 or more is Excellent, $6.77 up to $13.70 is Good, $3.385 up to $6.77 is Fair, and under $3.385 is Poor.

These bands are our own rule. Klaviyo's Benchmarks page also uses the words Poor, Fair, Good and Excellent, but it rates you against a group of peer companies, so it can show a different band for the same number. See What Poor or Fair means in Klaviyo Benchmarks.

How the dollar gap is worked out

Per flow: gap per recipient = the average RPR minus your RPR, or zero if you are at or above the average.

Monthly gap for that flow = gap per recipient x your recipients per month, rounded to whole dollars.

Estimated monthly gap = the sum over the flows you entered.

Example: abandoned cart RPR $2.10 with 400 recipients a month. Gap per recipient is $6.77 minus $2.10, which is $4.67. Monthly gap is $4.67 x 400, about $1,868.

Things the number deliberately does not do:

How the top 3 fixes are chosen

  1. Poor and Fair flows first, largest monthly gap first.
  2. Then missing flows, the one with the highest average benchmark first (abandoned cart, then welcome, browse abandonment, post-purchase).
  3. Then Good flows, furthest from the top 10% first.

Excellent flows never appear. If all four flows are entered and all are Excellent, the result says there are no urgent fixes. Only the first three are shown.

Limits you should know

Your saved result and dashboard

Every completed Gap Check gets a saved result link (flowsfixed.com/r/ followed by a long random code) with the bands and top 3 fixes. Anyone with the link can see it, and it is hidden from search engines. If you entered your email, you can sign in to see all your saved results in one place. The dashboard also has before-and-after slots (baseline, day 14 and day 30) for flows we fix; until then they say "Not yet measured".
